DESCRIPTION:Food for thought is defined as "something for someone to think about\, issues to be considered."\n\n \n\nOn Thursday\, September 21\, at noon\, the Small Business Committee will serve "Food for Thought" for members of the Chamber of Commerce.\n\n \n\nThe menu for these Dutch-treat membership luncheons will include a variety of speakers addressing diverse topics of interest to the community throughout the year. \n\n \n\nDirector of Cleveland City Schools Dr. Russell Dyer will speak for the September  "Food for Thought" on recent developments and upcoming plans for Cleveland City Schools focusing on the new the BLADE (Blended Learning and Digital Enhancement) project. \n\n\n\nDr. Russell Dyer started as the Cleveland City Director of Schools on July 1\, 2016. Before coming to Cleveland\, Dr. Dyer was Chief of Staff for Collierville Schools in Collierville\, Tennessee for two years   a school system similar to Cleveland with eight schools and 8\,000 students. He was instrumental in the formation of Collierville Schools which began in 2014\, after splitting from Shelby County Schools.\n\n \n\nPrior to opening the Collierville School system\, Dr. Dyer was a high school principal\, middle school principal\, human resource specialist\, assistant principal\, and teacher in Shelby County Schools. He was awarded the Tennessee PTA Outstanding Principal of the Year in 2011 and Rotary Club Teacher of the Year in 1999. Dr. Dyer is an avid outdoorsman\; he enjoys hiking\, mountain biking\, and kayaking.\n\n \n\n The "Food for Thought" Dutch-treat luncheon requires reservations to facilitate room setup and food. Please make your reservation by Tuesday\, Sept. 19.\n\n \n\nChamber members who have paid their 2017 membership investment and would like to use some of their admission credits to attend should call the Chamber office to register.
