The Chamber’s newest BEST partnership is a relationship between Valley View Elementary School and Renfro Corporation. “For us to continue great things at Valley View and go further into excellence, we must have a team of individuals on and off campus.” states Jeremy Jones, Ed. S., Principal Valley View Elementary. “Bank of Cleveland and Lewis Group Architects have shown this amazing support, and we are excited to add Renfro Manufacturing to our team as a BEST Partner.”
BEST, the acronym for Business & Education Serving Together, is a program of the Cleveland/Bradley Chamber of Commerce that unites the efforts of a business and a selected school for the betterment of both. “Renfro Corporation’s Cleveland location is excited to work together with the Chamber of Commerce and Valley View Elementary as a BEST Partner,” stated Tony Holmes, Renfro Corporation Cleveland Production Manager. “This partnership gives us an opportunity to get more involved in our community while introducing students to local industry with a global impact.” Renfro Corporation is a global leader in the design, manufacture, marketing, merchandising and selling of legwear products in North America and selected international markets.
“The ultimate goal of the Chamber’s BEST program is unite local businesses and schools to help prepare students for the labor force,” Sherry Crye, the Chamber’s Director of Workforce Development, explained. “The intermediate goal is to forge affiliations between business and a school for the benefit of both.”
Each public school in the Bradley County and Cleveland City School Systems has one or more local business partners. For information about the BEST partnership program, call Sherry Crye at 423-472-6587.
