Berry to review local economic and community development outlook
Doug Berry, vice president for economic development, will speak at the quarterly “Food for Thought” membership, noon luncheon on Thursday, Dec. 13, at the Cleveland/Bradley Chamber of Commerce. Berry will talk about community progress made on a variety of economic development initiatives, including the city’s downtown development initiative, industrial recruitment activities and the general state of the local economy.

Since joining the Chamber of Commerce in 2009, Berry has focused on growing existing industry in Cleveland and Bradley County and in pursuing those projects that will enhance the employment opportunities for the citizens of our community. Berry and his team have helped the community secure 32 projects that include 24 existing industry expansions and 8 new locations.

These projects, have translated to over $3.5 billion in new capital investments, the creation of 3,292 new jobs and continue to place our community at the top of economic growth in our region.   
Cost for the “Food for Thought” luncheon is $15 for members and $25 for nonmembers. Attendance is limited. Register online by noon on Tuesday Dec. 11, at the community calendar at www.clevelandchamber.com. Chamber members desiring to use admission credits should call the Chamber office at 423-472-6587.
